NHS 111 Service
You can call 111 when you need medical help fast but it is not a 999 emergency. NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and also online.
Call 111 –  free from landlines and mobile phones or use the form online.

In an emergency please call 999 or go to your nearest Accident and Emergency Hospital.

If you want to talk to someone on the phone or text, there is someone who wants to listen. Get in touch with any of the helpline services below:

Maytree – Helpline
If you are feeling suicidal they offer confidential advice with email and telephone support between 8am and 8pm.
Call 020 7263 7070.

Samaritans – Helpline
They offer emotional support and befriending in complete confidence at any time of day or night.
Call 116 123 for the free national helpline.

Papyrus – Helpline
Prevention of young suicide, Mon-Fri: 10am-10pm, weekends: 2pm-10pm & bank holidays: 2pm-5pm

Childline – Helpline
A free service for children and young people up to the age of 19 where you can speak to a counsellor at any time of day or night, and via online chat and e-mail services

Offers and provides information and emotional support to those experiencing mental health difficulties, their families and carers, Monday to Friday 12pm-11pm, Weekends 12pm-6pm

Switchboard – LGBT+ Helpline
Available 10am-11pm every day and for online chat and e-mail service

Shelter – Urgent Housing Advice Helpline
Available every day of the year. 8am-8pm on weekdays. 9am-5pm on weekends. Non-urgent web chat also available.
